Abstract:To clear and definite the resistance level of Tuta absoluta in the cities of Beijing and Zhangjiakou,the current work used leaf-dipping method with ten field-collected populations from the two cities to determine the levels of resistance to three popular diamide insecticides(5% chlorantraniliprole SC,20% fl ubendiamide WG,and 10% cyantraniliprole OD).The results displayed that most of the ten fi eld-collected populations have developed low level of resistance to chlorantraniliprole and flubendiamide,respectively,and some of them have developed moderate resistance to the two insecticides.On the other hand,most of the ten field-collected populations showed high susceptibility or decreased susceptibility to cyantraniliprole,and some of them displayed low level of resistance to it.Moreover,significant resistance to all of the three popular diamide insecticides were detected in the Zhangjiakou Huailai field-collected population.Based on previously published cases and results of this study,application of chlorantraniliprole and fl ubendiamide should be cautious due to the detection of moderate resistance.Although high susceptibilities of cyantraniliprole were observed in the most field-collected populations of T.absoluta,other classes of insecticides were recommended to rotation with the diamide insecticides to avoid potential resistance development resulting from similar mode of action.
